R. W. Bro. Burton Carr, D.D.G.M. 2004 - 2005

Burton Carr was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario on 23 July 1938. He grew up in Kirkland Lake and was educated at the Kinkland Lake College and Vocational Institute, with a major in Electrical. He served his electrical Apprenticeship with the Canadian National Railways shops in Stratford Ontario. When the C.N.R.. Shops closed in 1956, he joined The Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and was posted to Kingston. The military sent him to Winnepeg for further training in Radio and Radar at the Manitoba Technical Institute.
In 1959 he married June Pritchard, and they have a daughter, who lives in Maple Ontario with her husband and three sons, and a son who is with the Royal Canadian Regiment and is posted to Ottawa where he lives with his wife, son and daughter.
Following his discharge from the army, Burton and his wife owned and operated a British American service station on Princess Street in Kingston.
He then joined the Federal Penitentiary Service and worked in Joyceville for six years.
He joined the Ontario Provincial Police and was posted to Oakridge in Toronto, then transferred to the South Frontenac detachment in Kingston in January 1974. He spent 30 years on the force, 26 in the Kingston area, until his retirement.
Masonic Career of R.W.Bro. Burton Carr
Burton is a member of Cataraqui Lodge No. 92, A.F & A.M. G.R.C. in Kingston, Ontario since he was initiated on the 24th of September, 1975.
He progressed through the Offices and was elected Worshipful Master in December 1983, with a second term in June 2000;
Fellow of the College of Freemasonry
Member of the Kingston Lodge of Perfection, A&A.S.R. since June 2003.
Served in various capacities on the Frontenac Masonic District until elected President in 2003.
Proclaimed District Deputy Grand Master of Frontenac District, July 22, 2004 by the Grand Master, M.W.Bro Donald H. Mumby.
