R. W. Bro. Tom Hogeboom, D.D.G.M. 1997 - 1998

Thomas W. Hogeboom was born and raised in Napanee, Ontario. He is a graduate of Napanee District Secondary School with an Ontario Secondary School Honours Graduation Diploma; Queen's University with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Studies and Economics; Dalhousie University with a Master of Arts degree in Political Administration; and St. Lawrence College withan Accredited Municipal Clerk-Treasurer diploma. He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl and they live in Napanee with their daughter, Annette Jane.

Tom is the Quality Manager a the Goodyear Tire and Rubber plant in Napanee where he has held a variety of positions since 1988.

Masonic Career of R.W.Bro. Tom Hogeboom

Tom is a member of his father's lodge, Maple Leaf Lodge No. 119, A.F & A.M. G.R.C. in Bath, Ontario.

Initiated 10 November 1980; Passed 23 February 1981; Raised 27 April 1981;
Progressed through the Offices and was elected Worshipful Master in 1994, with additional terms in 1995 and 1999. In spite of his many responsibilities to the Craft, Tom continues to serve in line offices in Maple Leaf Lodge. In May of 2002, Maple Leaf Lodge recognized him with their Meritorious Service Award.
Tom is also a member of Limestone Daylight Lodge No. 739 and serves as Treasurer of Heritage Lodge No. 730. He is the Charter Junior Warden of the Millenium Lodge No. 743.
Tom is also a Grand Elect Perfect and Sublime Mason of the Kingston Lodge of Perfection (19 May 1988), a Soveriegn Prince Rose Croix of H.R.D.M. of the Rose of Sharon Chapter (23 February 1989) and a Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret of the Moore Soveriegn Consistory (May 6, 1989).
He became a Mark Master Mason of the Mount Sinai Chapter No. 44 G.R.C. of Royal Arch Masons on 27 June 2002, a Most Excellent Master on 18 September 2002, and a Royal Arch Mason on 16 October 2002.

At the 2002 Annual Communication of Grand Lodge, Tom was recognized for his commitment to excellence with the Grand Master's Certificate of Commendation for outstanding service for his work with the Help-2-Hear Millenium Project.

Tom's service to his community is not restricted to his involvement in the Craft. He is Past-President of the Napanee Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor and a Director of Community Service of the Board of Directors of the Rotary Foundation; has served both as Treasurer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital where he has chaired the Management Committee and has sat on the Redevelopment, Finance and Joint Conference Committee; past member of the Board of Directors of the Lennox and Addington County General Hospital Foundation; member of the Planning Committee of the Kingston General Hospital and a certified Lay Reader at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Napanee.
Tom has served as Deputy-Reeve of Richmond Township in such capacities as a member of the Amalgamation Study Steering Committee, Minor Variance Committee, Eastern Bay of Quinte-Hay Bay Tourism Committee and the Moira River Conservation Authority. He has also served as a Lennox and Addington County Councilor on the Community Services Committee, County Museum Advisory Committee, Economic Development Strategic Plan Steering Committee as its first chair, Social and Lenadco Home Services Committee, and the Lenadco Home Feasibility Study Steering Committee.
Tom has a long history of involvement with the United Way beginning in Halifax in 1982 as a Big Brother, in Calgary as a Campaign Volunteer, through Goodyear on the plant campaign committee of 1990, iin 1991 as its chair, 1994-1999 as the Training Committee Chair and since 2000 as the Recognition Committee Chair. In 1992 and 1993 he acted as Deputy-Chair of the United Appeal for the Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington campaign. In 1994 he joined the Board of Directors where he sat on the Finance and Human Resources Committee.
Tom's community involvement includes teaching The Economics of Staying in School with Junior Acheivement in schools throughout Lennox and Addington County. He is a former Director of the Board of Governors of the Lennox and Addington Resource Centre for Children.
